Nelson Lage

President of the Board of Directors, ADENE

Nelson Lage has a degree in Political Science – International Relations and an Executive Master in management and leadership development (Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics). He has more than 15 years of experience in the public sector in the areas of energy, innovation, and international relations. He served as an adviser in several Portuguese governments, and he was Adviser to the Secretary of State for Energy (2018-2019) and Adviser as well as Deputy Chief of Cabinet to the Deputy Minister and Secretary of State for Energy (2019-july 2020). From February 2022 to February 2023, he was President of EnR – European Energy Network.

In 2011, he joined ADENE – Agência Portuguesa da Energia and is currently President of ADENE, President of OLMC – Logistics Operator of Change of Supplier, member of the Board of Directors of the MEDENER network – Mediterranean Energy Agencies Network, member of the Advisory Board of ERSE – Entidade Reguladora dos Serviços Energéticos and member of the strategic and consultant board for various initiatives and events as well as member of the board of Directors of the Professional Training Center for the Energy Transition, Vice-President of the Board of Directors, and President of the Advisory Committee of the Energy Poverty Observatory (ONPE-PT).

On a voluntary and pro bono basis he is Executive Director of the Intercultural Dialogue Network – Reach Alliance Global Network, member of the board of the Foundation Alliance of Civilization and member of East West Bridge International Foundation.
