Adolfo Mesquita Nunes

Adolfo Mesquita Nunes is a lawyer. He is currently a partner at Pérez-Llorca Law Firm, heading the Public Law and Regulatory Practice Area. In recent years, focused on highly regulated sectors where regulation becomes a binding constraint or a driver of business models. He has been quite active in transport, electric mobility and on the so-called platform economy, helping clients in identifying opportunities for expansion into new products and markets.
He has been a non-executive member of Galp’s Board of Directors since April 2019. Additionally, he has served as the Lead Independent Director and Vice Chairman of Galp’s Board of Directors since May 3, 2023.
He is an Invited Assistant Professor at Nova SBE and Nova School of Law and a public law arbitrator at CAAD – Administrative Arbitration Centre.
Adolfo is a published author, being invited to write in the most prestigious public law magazines on the areas to which he is dedicated. His book A Grande Escolha (2020) of public policies to face the globalization challenges hit the tops of the most sold non-fiction books and is already in its 3rd edition.
Previously, he was part of the XIX and XX Governments as the Secretary of State for Tourism, from February 2013 to November 2015, and was also a deputy of the Portuguese Parliament from June 2011 to February 2013.
